Holiday hotels are being encouraged to take a leaf out of the pet friendly hotels handbook, and offer pet-friendly tips for the guests and staff.
Hoteliers are encouraged to include on their booking websites an “Ask the Guest” section and to provide guests with a list of recommended pet friendly pet friendly hotel rooms.
The Hoteliers Association, a trade body representing hoteliers, said they are also encouraging pet-sitting rooms to have a pet friendly section, and that hotels should make it clear that pets are welcome at all times in these rooms.
Hotels are also encouraged to add the word “pet-friendly” to their website to ensure that guests are aware of pet-free accommodation.
The association said the industry has already been inundated with queries from customers asking for pet-friendliness.
The National Pet Alliance has also been contacted for comment.
